Privacy Policy

FD Calculator is a fixed deposit maturity calculator. The calculator itself works entirely in your browser and requires no account — this policy explains what happens when you use the calculator on its own, and what changes if you choose to sign in with Google to save FDs and get a Calendar reminder.

Information we collect

Using the calculator without signing in. No personal data is collected. Every calculation runs locally in your browser and is never sent to a server. Your light/dark theme choice is saved only in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device.

If you sign in with Google (optional). Signing in is only needed to save FD records and get a maturity reminder — the calculator works fully without it. When you sign in, we receive and store:

Your basic Google profile info (name, email address, profile photo) via Firebase Authentication, used to identify your account.
The FD records you explicitly choose to save — deposit name, principal amount, interest rate, tenure, start date, and FD type — stored in a database (Firestore) tied to your account.
A temporary Google OAuth access token scoped only to calendar.events, used once at save time to create a single reminder event on your Google Calendar for the FD's maturity date. This token is kept in memory for your browser session only — it is never written to any database or server.

How we use your information

To let you view and manage your saved FDs across visits and devices.
To create an optional Google Calendar event reminding you when an FD matures.

We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell or share it with third parties beyond the service providers listed below.

Third-party services

Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore database) stores your sign-in identity and saved FD records, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Calendar API is called only when you save an FD while signed in, to create one reminder event on your primary calendar.
Vercel hosts this static site and, as with any web host, may log standard technical request data (such as IP address and browser type); we do not access this for tracking or analytics.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data retention and deletion

A saved FD record stays in our database until you delete it. You can permanently delete any saved FD at any time from the Saved FDs page. To request deletion of your account data entirely, contact us using the email below.

Cookies and local storage

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Browser local storage is used only for your theme preference and, via Firebase, to keep you signed in between visits.

Your choices

You can use the full calculator without ever signing in.
You can sign out at any time using the "Sign out" button.
You can revoke FD Calculator's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Children's privacy

FD Calculator is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
